Focusing on Maintaining a Healthy Heart

Heart disease remains the number one killer of men and women in America today. Each year 1.5 million people suffer a heart attack. 250,000, or one third, will die as a result - before they reach a hospital. We know a great deal about who is at risk of heart disease. Some of the risk factors of heart disease are controllable and some are not.

Here is what you need to know. First, let's look at what you can't control-

Age. The incidence and risk of heart disease increases as we grow older. Gender. Men have twice the risk of heart disease than women - although heart disease kills three times as many women as the second largest cause of death. Nature. When a women reaches menopause her risk of heart disease increase significantly. Family. There is a genetic pre-disposition towards heart disease in many individuals.

Now for those factors that we have control over-

One out of four Americans has high blood pressure. Ignored or undetected, high blood pressure is a direct contributor to heart disease. Regular blood pressure checks and medication, when necessary, will reduce the risk of heart disease.

Diabetes is a major risk factor for heart disease. A diabetic has about a five fold increased risk of heart disease whether they take insulin or oral medication to control their blood glucose. The better the control of blood sugar the lower the risk. Routine testing of fasting blood sugar levels and prompt treatment, if needed, reduces the risk of heart disease. Obesity is directly linked to increased cases of diabetes. A healthy Weight Management Program will solve the dual role of reducing the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

As we all know, the risk of heart disease increases as your total amount of cholesterol increases. Individuals who have low levels of HDL, the good cholesterol, have increased risk of heart disease - as do individuals with high levels of LDL, the bad cholesterol. Routine testing of cholesterol levels, including HDL and LDL, and the management of abnormal findings thru diet, exercise, or medication will reduce the risk of heart disease.

There are lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of heart disease. Regular physical activity, moderate alcohol use and managing your stress and anger levels are a few healthy lifestyle changes. Last, but definitely not least, smoking can cause severe damage to your heart. Post-menopausal women who smoke have as high as five times the increase of heart disease versus a non-smoking equal. Avoiding tobacco products will do your heart AND your lungs a tremendous favor.

A diet that is low in saturated fat and high in fresh fruits and vegetables is key in maintaining a healthy heart. Healthcare professionals have consistently used the food pyramid and proper portions of the five key food groups as a guide for maintaining a healthy heart. However, the realities of a busy life prevent most of the well intentioned from getting the necessary nutrients from our diets to protect our most vital organ. Therefore, the need for nutritional supplements becomes significant in your effort to reduce the risk of coronary disease.

A supplement can provide the essential vitamins needed to protect the heart. It can provide nutrients to help lower cholesterol. Antioxidants can reduce the damage caused by cholesterol. There is substantial evidence that nutritional supplements reduce heart attack and stroke rates, especially among individuals with known risk factors.

Why is Cardio Guardian the best natural supplement for your heart?

Cardio Guardian contains folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12 - all proven to lower homocysteine levels in the blood stream. Homocysteine is a harmful amino acid that damages artery walls if allowed to accumulate in the blood. Elevated levels of homocysteine are directly related to increased rates of heart disease and strokes.

Cardio Guardian contains two nutrients to control cholesterol. Niacin helps regulate the production of cholesterol. Beta-sitosterol is a nutrient found in plants that inhibits the absorption of cholesterol in the digestive system, thereby, keeping it out of the blood stream. These are safe, natural ways to lower cholesterol levels.

Cardio Guardian contains linoleic acid and gamma linoleic acid, fatty acids that the body converts to a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). PGE1 has mild blood thinning and blood vessel dilation effects.

Cardio Guardian contains key antioxidants to prevent the oxidation of LDL, the most dangerous form of cholesterol. Several studies have shown that vitamin E, selenium, and Coenzyme Q10 - all included in a daily dosage - are beneficial towards reducing heart disease.

Why put your heart at risk with inferior substitutes?

Cardio Guardian is a safe, effective and natural nutritional supplement created to reduce your risk of coronary heart disease.
